December/January 2011: Neckline Fitting
(p 30-33)
by Christine Jonson

Some of the most common fitting problems appear in the neckline and upper chest. A poor fitting neckline is often the result of a combination of causes, including fabric, design and construction. Unlike ease and length alterations, neckline fitting problems often occur mid-construction, so they're difficult to anticipate. Follow these steps to transform a garment with a problem neckline into a new favorite.

August/September 2011: Pin Fitting (p 32-34)
by Christine Jonson

Flattering length, proportion and shape are determined by the horizontal, vertical and curved seamlines of a garment. Many times an outfit just needs simple fitting tweaks to become a favorite, but it's often too late in the sewing process to make these adjustments. Pin-fitting saves time and frustration by helping you determine horizontal proportion lines and vertical shaping lines.

June/July 2011: Armseye & Sleeve Fitting (p 28-32)
by Christine Jonson

When a sleeve fits well the arm is free to move, twist and bend at the elbow and shoulder. The sleeve must comfortably accommodate these motions, which makes it the most difficult pattern piece to draft and challenging to fit. Learn how to troubleshoot the causes of an ill-fitting sleeve and manipulate a sleeve pattern for a better fit.
