Cross Your Heart Top #714
Funnel Neck Tee - Travel Trio 2 #331
The Cross Your Heart Top on the left was made using fabric SK759 from our Fall 2010 Collection, a luxurious feeling viscose/lycra blend in peacock blue. The Funnel Neck Top from Travel Trio II on the right is fabric SK770 cozy, warm, acrylic/lycra blend in smoky turquoise.

The Cross Your Heart pattern was altered by dropping the seam beneath the bust 2 inches. I used the slash and spread method to extend the front and back pattern pieces at the same point about an inch beneath the armhole.

Realign the front neck seam by adding tissue to extend the line from the upper half of the altered pattern piece. This extra fabric will be gathered up into the seam. Side seams will need slight adjusting as well.
The top was then constructed as directed.

This alteration is great for a larger bust. The design line is tops like this one should always hit below the bust. This small change allows this seam to fall into its intended position on fuller figure types.
No changes were made to the Funnel Neck Top pictured at the top right. The same pattern piece works for both the front and back and the sleeves have no designated front or back either. A super quick and easy project you can have done in a couple of hours.
